Surveys continue to show that after the fear of death public speaking is the second greatest fear that people have!

BUT it doesn’t have to be that way.

But I vowed to change all that and become a really great public speaker. After studying everything I could on the subject I developed my own special techniques to achieve this.

“I don’t have a good memory so I won’t be able to memorize my speech.”

“I can’t memorize my speech so I’ll have to read it all out but I’m worried that I’ll make mistakes and lose my place …”

“You have to be born with the skill to speak in public and I wasn’t born with it.”

These are some of the most pernicious fears that potential students have voiced over the years. Yet each of those fears is TOTALLY MISPLACED!


Fear Number 1. “I’m terrified of what the audience will think. I’m really worried I’ll make a fool of myself in front of an audience.”

This fear is a formidable hurdle that people worry about. Yet it is totally misplaced because your listeners want you to be a success, they don’t want you to flop/fail/mess up. If you understand this important truth you are on your way to conquering your fear.

Fear Number 2. One of the main things that scares people is the thought of having to memorize their speech.

Let me say straight way that you should NEVER EVER try to memorize a speech. It’s the worst thing that you can do.

Reading your speech word for word is equally as bad.

It’s hardly surprising that so many people worry about memorizing or reading a speech perfectly. The reason is that it is impossible to do so without forgetting your place or stumbling over your words.

Worst of all your speech will be filled with gaps and stilted.

These are absolutely the worst ways to present a speech despite what some gurus may say.

But don’t worry because you never need to memorize or read a speech word for word again! Because using my tried and trusted techniques you can overcome your fear and deliver a great speech without memorizing it or reading pages of text.

Fear Number 3. “You have to be born with the skill to speak in public and I wasn’t born with it.”

You don’t have to be born with this skill. Like any skill public speaking can be learnt if you have the right teacher.

Equally you can learn the techniques to overcome a fear of public speaking and become a natural fearless speaker.
